Let's pretend we are creative Gods!

Welcome in new dimension!

It's time to start our own adventure in gamers world, where we can be whoever we want. For me games are something more than just form of spending free time. When I’m playing, I’m one of the characters in many adventures. One time I’m agile assassin, next time I’m intelligent mage or pro-ecological druid.

But my favorite genre of games is that, when we are something like God. You know, creating and modifying world, controlling life in some way. But which games are good examples of that "genre"? This is “Top 5 Games We Control World”, or "Games With So Much Creative Potential", of course in my opinion.

5. Birthdays the Beginning

Not many people know this title. I say more, many of gamers, which play this game say it isn’t more than average game. I can agree with that state, but, if you want play something, that will give you full control over entire world, better see this game.

The plot is simple, you become a God and they give you small cube. You can terraform it by making some places lower and fill them with water and lower temperature on cube, or do something opposite, add more land to rise temperature and make mountains. Every change have influence, so be careful with them. After some terraforming just let time pass and observe how plants grow from nothing and animals start appearing. Every specie have own requirements so it’s hard to get all of them.

(For someone who like dinosaurs and being a God, that can be very enjoyable game)

4. Terraria

I play this game sooooo long with modifications that I forgot what is in vanilla, and what is in mods. Maybe I should try again play without them?

Many peoples when see Terraria say, it’s just Minecraft in 2D. I understand that and I can say at the beginning I think the same. But after a few hours I change my mind. Many different NPCs, Bosses, ores and great selection of weapons, from swords and bows to guns and magic wands. You can change class by just changing armor, weapon and accessories.

But the most important aspect of this game is creativity. You can build whatever you want, only limit is your imagination. Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit. This game has limits, because 2D graphic unfortunately stops us from many things, but materials and furniture you can use compensate that.

(It's just 2D, but still look amazing)

3. Cities: Skylines

Do you want become an architect? Now is your chance! “Cities: Skylines” allows you to create city of your dreams.

At the beginning you choose where you want build this city. Each area have different resources and climate, so choose carefully. Then, with 70,000 ₡ (In-game currency called “cell”) you must build first roads, designate zones where peoples can live, where they can buy things and where in the city they can build fabrics. The bigger your city is, the bigger are your capabilities in developing it. For example, you the city must be at least Little Hamlet to build Elementary School, but for High School you must have Tiny Town. And don’t forget to make bus lines and tramways, to make your townsfolk easier to travel.

(Making cities can be very time-consuming and tiring, but views can sometimes compensate everything)

2. Minecraft

If you don’t live under a stone, you must hear at least once about this game or maybe you watch something about it on YouTube. This game has no plot, but who cares, when you have so much to do without it.

The start is simple – spawn in the middle of nowhere, get supplies and try to survive. As a basic tools you can make pickaxe to gather stone and ores, axe to gather wood, shovel and hoe for farming. But the best thing in this game is that, you have no limits when it comes to creativity in building. You can create whatever you like in 3D or just 2D. Small village, big castle or even gigantic city – you can let your imagination runs wild.

(I just spawn and look down. That little girl wants to greet me)

1. The Sims 4

I think The Sims, especially The Sims 4, is like Minecraft – everyone at least hear about it. This series is very special for many people, because they grow up with this games. Starting from first ever game, to present times with the Sims 4 and all DLC. The Sims 4 is very iconic to this series, because it’s the game which EA upgrading so long (it’s over seven years) and they still have plans for new expansion packs.

I’m sure everyone know how this game work, so it would be quick. You start form making family. It can be only one Sim or couple, but you can also make big family with children and pets, if you have DLC. Then you build house for Sims, or move them to already built home. You must take care of your Sims, find them work and things like that. And, because you have control over that characters, ever over their death, you can feel like real God.

(I must say, I look in The Sims 4 much better than in real life)

We can make our own worlds and stories, when we start writing books, but, you know, gaming is much easier and less complicated. Of course, there is much more games, that will let you go wild with your creativity and give chance, to be God in one way, or another, like "Spore" or "Black & White". But I think, that 5 is special, because show many different ways of creativity and being God.

So, that is all for now. What will I write in next post? We will see on Friday. But now, I will say

            Sayonara, and until next time!
