Games, but not from developers?

            Hi guys!

In this days you can do games even if you are not working in company. Some people make indie games and that is cool. But sometimes people make games about something they are fan of or about someone famous, like Youtubers. This kind of games is called fangames.

Okay, but what exactly is fangame? Wikipedia states that “Fangames are video games that are created by fans.” Well, that is general explanation, but it is still useful. Fans can create games about almost everything like other video games, movies, books or famous people. For example, if you make game about famous youtuber, Pewdiepie, it would be fangame (by the way, I just wrote “Pewdiepie fangames” and people made many of them). Other example, if you make fangame about “Five Night at Freddy’s”, even on different game engine, it would be a fangame, like maked in RPG Maker “Five Nights at F**kboy’s”. If you’re lucky, you can even find fangems of fangames.

I love playing fangames. Why? Well, it’s the same reason like with fanfictionsmany people have their own ideas for plot in some universes or just with some characters. Sometimes they make games that would be funny and the other times they can make complex game with interesting mechanics and plot twists. Also, fangame makers don’t put limits on their games, like non-sexual content or non-vulgar language.

My personal favorite type of fangames are the ones made in RPG Maker. This program is very intuitive, give us good base for making games, system and even graphics, if we don’t know how to make them. I tried to use this program several times on my friend computer and I must say that even I can make simple game on it (It’s shocking, cause I can’t program at all). In that program we can also make fangames with my favorite themes – Pokemon.

And what about you? Do you like fangames? Have you ever played in that kind of game? Tell me in the comment, but for now…

            Sayonara and until next time!
